f.r.a.c.t.a.l

Another experimental artist from a little town near Paris is a man who goes by "f.r.a.c.t.a.l." Unfortunately he has no singles or EP's out for you to creep. It's somewhat minimalist techno/club music. F.r.a.c.t.a.l has a nice mix that features Iggy Pop's "I wanna be your dog." Check it.

Crossing that fine line.

The popular website tv-links.co.uk was shut down by MPAA a few days ago. This is what tv-links said about the ordeal:

"TVLINKS has been forced to switch data center’s from MPAA threats. Now we need your help. Please consider donating. Apparently it is now illegal to link to a website that displays illegal content. But what about the sites that are actually housing the video uploads? Oh wait, they’re owned by Google, and sites like YouTube have already paid off the MPAA to turn their head."

The whole thing is a load of crap. With this site getting shut down and the recent raid of oink.cd, the un-popular invite only torrent site I used, I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get any free entertainment that really does no harm to either the CEO's of record labels or TV networks. I mean, I used tv-links to watch episodes of Family Guy before I'd call it a day and head to bed. Sorry for the fact that I'm too poor to own a TV.

Evidently there's a mirror sites you can use:

Jazz the way it should be.

Eight brass instruments + one drummer + no electricity = portable jazz bliss. The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, originated in Chicago, is comprised of four trumpets, two trombones, a marching baritone, a sousaphone and a drumkit. All of the brass players are sons of the iconic composer Kelan Philip Cohran, who was a founding member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians before he formed the legendary Artistic Hetirage Ensemble in the late 60s. The boys grew up with the great musical influences of their father and formed the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble in 1999. Since 2001 they've created three CDs of original work. The tune "Balicky Bon" was nominated as a Song of the Year by the BBC's Gilles Petersen.

For a great six minute bio check out their video on the New York Times website.

Straight out of San-Francisco come the beats of DJ B. Cause, jam packed with a mix of 1970's funk and popular hip-hop tunes out on radio play today. DJ B. Cause started out in 1994 and since has nine mixtape releases which can be found at 4onefunk.com. The most popular of his hits, in my opinion that is, is "Ignition Response" which can be found on Myspace. Check it out.
